PROLEPSIS
Prolepsis is a turn-based battle game created in 22 hours. Players guide a knight by locking in three actions: attack, defence, and dodge before confirming. Once chosen, the sequence plays out step by step: the knight strikes, the enemy responds, and so on until the turn ends.
The theme “The Last Thing We Heard” connects through both mechanics and lore. The player acts as a god giving commands, while the knight carries them out without knowing what's ahead. Enemies don’t reveal their next move; the only clue is what they’ve done before. Success depends on paying attention to past turns, memorising attack patterns, and anticipating what will likely come next. For example, if a dragon attacked two turns ago and dodged last turn, you can predict that the next strike is coming. Every decision is shaped by “The Last Thing Heard”, the enemy’s previous action.
What I’m most proud of is the art style. Despite the short time frame, the pixel visuals and clean interface feel polished and keep the action readable.
Overall, Prolepsis delivers a focused loop of memory, foresight, and quick decision-making.
